At the BNCN spring meeting on the 25th of May, Jarkko Lehmus Producer at Cirko Centre for New Circus in Helsinki, was voted into the steering committee. Lehmus currently works as the producer responsible of the artistic programme of Cirko. He also works as a freelance dramaturg and director specialising in non-verbal performative arts.
Lehmus has worked internationally in the field of performing arts since 1995. His experience ranges from physical theatre to neoclassical ballet and conceptual performance art to acting on the stage and in front of the camera. In his work regardless of the professional title Lehmus concentrates on physical affects and effects of imagination, emotions and empathy and the collaboration between arts and sciences.
He holds an MA Dramaturgy & Writing for performance from Goldsmiths, University of London, MA Arts Policy & Management from Birkbeck, University of London and BA (Hons) Theatre from Guildford School of Acting.
