On October 17th and 18th, a Masterclass in partner acrobatics was held at Hringleikur Circus Space in Iceland with the Swedish acro duo Henrik & Louise. The class was fully booked, with 13 youth and adults participants. The masterclass was offered as part of the international project ARTiculate Pedagogy organised by the Baltic Nordic Circus Network.
Hringleikur Circus Company
Hringleikur Circus Company is an Icelandic non-profit member organisation at the forefront of developing the circus scene in Iceland. In collaboration with Baltic Nordic Circus Network, the masterclass is one of the efforts deployed by Hringleikur Circus Company to evovle and strengthen the circus field in Iceland! The masterclass was part of the Hringleikur's event series Side-Flipp, which leads up to the Flipp Festival, a circus festival which will be taking place in spring 2025. Flipp Festival is supported by the Barnamenningarsjóður Children's Cultural Fund. Hringleikur is supported by the City of ReykjavÃk. Hringleikur is a member of Baltic Nordic Circus Network, SL - the Association for Independent Theatres in Iceland, and particpants to the Caravan youth circus network. www.hringleikur.is
Henrik & Louise
The artists Louise Bjurholm von Euler and Henrik Agger, a performance duo from Sweden, have worked together since 2001. Louise Bjurholm von Euler has a master’s degree from the master’s program New Performative Practices at the University of Dance and Circus in Stockholm (SKH). Henrik Agger went to the Mime Acting Program at Teaterhögskolan Stockholm (Stockholm University of the Arts). They have a diploma in Circus Arts from Moscow State School of Circus, 2001-2006, where they studied under the legendary acrobatic coach Boris Nikiforovich Belochvostov. Henrik Agger is one of the founders of the contemporary circus company Cirkus Cirkör, the largest circus company in the Nordic countries, which brought contemporary circus to Sweden in 1995.
